"The roots of a lasting relationship are mindfulness, deep listening, and loving speech."

- Thich Nhat Hanh -

Deep Listening for Social Change believes WE, as BIPOC people, have the power, internally and collectively, to effectuate changes that will create well resourced, healthy, beloved communities.

"I’ve used teachings from Pat McCabe in particular; the ancestor introductions have been really moving and sweet, particularly after the Atlanta murders of Asian women. I hosted my own AAPI zoom, had a friend from Hawaii do an opening chant and had everyone introduce themselves by their ancestors. Just hearing names, places, etc., in other [AAPI] languages was like music to our needy souls.
I’ve used this many times and it brings our ancestors and other's energy into the space.

The time with Matiu was enriching; it incorporated non-English language, movement, steeped in cultural practice, was fun and well instructed.

What’s not to love too, about getting our own song?! I talk a lot about deep listening and its necessity for effective community building and understanding." - Sandy A.
